MB NET is an innovative free-of-charge service developed by the Portuguese banking system that allows you to make secure online payments without having to disclose your debit or credit card real number either on national or foreign websites.
To make a payment using MB Net, you need to apply for a temporary card, taking the following steps:
BPI APP
- Under the menu option "MB Way / MB Net", select the desired Card and the "Create New MB Net Card" option.
- Indicate the type of card you want (for single or recurring purchases in the same Merchant).
- Enter the maximum amount of the temporary card and, n cases of a Merchant Card, you must also indicate the number of months you want for the card (max 12 months). Next, select the type of limit you want to assign to the card (Monthly or Total).
- A name may be specified to identify the card (optional).
- Then confirm the data entered, by clicking on "Confirm".
BPI NET
- Under t he menu option "Cards > Card Services > MB Net", select the desired Card and "Create MB Net Card" option.
- Indicate the type of card you want (for single or recurring purchases from the same Merchant).
- Enter the maximum amount of the temporary card, and, in cases of a Merchant Card, you also must indicate the number of months you want for the card (max. 12 months). Next, select the type of limit you want to assign to the card (Monthly or Total).
- A name may be specified to identify the card (optional).
- Then con firm the data entered by clicking on "Create card".
APP MB WAY
- In the MB Way App, select the “Cards” menu and select the option “Create MB NET card”.
- Select the MB Net card type (for single or recurring purchases from the same Merchant) and define the maximum value of the temporary card.
- If a Merchant Card, you must also indicate the number of months you want for the card (max. 12 months) and select the limit type you want to assign to the card (Monthly or Total).
- A name may be specified to identify the card (optional). Confirm the operation with MB Way PIN.
In order to complete the purchase, copy the data from the temporary card created in BPI Net or in the MB Way App (number, expiry date and CVV) for the Merchant’s site.
Note: Access to BPI Net, BPI App and the MB Way App requires prior registration for services by the Card Holder.
